Liberia’s delegation, led by Minister of Education Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah and Assistant Minister for Student Personnel Services Sona Traore Sesay, joined global leaders to showcase our country’s commitments and progress on school feeding.

Commitments highlighted by Minister Jallah:

1. Expand coverage to 332,000 children by 2029

2. Revise the National School Feeding Policy by 2026

3. Institutionalize a USD 5M annual budget line

4. Strengthen home-grown models linking farmers, school gardens, and clean cooking

Progress reported in 2025:

Nearly 240,000 children are receiving meals in 13 counties

More than 1,300 schools reached (116K girls and 122K boys)

For the first time, USD 1M allocated in the national budget

With support from partners like WFP, Mary’s Meals, and Save the Children, Liberia is working to expand school meals so that more children can stay in school, learn, and thrive.
