Liberia Sets Pace for African EdTech Innovation with Project Respect

Kakata, Margibi County – September 19, 2025

The Ministry of Education, in partnership with Spix Foundation America, has launched a four-day national teacher orientation under the Project Respect initiative.

This groundbreaking program is equipping Liberian teachers with digital literacy skills, 21st-century teaching tools, and African-led classroom solutions.

Liberia is one of only three pilot countries (alongside Kenya and Ghana), making this a milestone moment for the nation.

Assistant Minister for STEM and TVET, Hon. Nathaniel Cisco, stressed the importance of delivering inclusive, scalable digital solutions, especially to rural schools. Deputy Minister for Instruction, Hon. Amos Armah, called the initiative “a catalyst for systemic reform,” empowering teachers as agents of change and innovation.

Through Project Respect, Liberia is showing that education transformation must be locally driven, contextually relevant, and globally competitive.
