2024 Scholarship Announcement for Mauritius

2024 MAURITIUS SCHOLARSHIP 

The Liberian Government, in partnership with the Mauritian Government, is offering an opportunity for fifteen (15) Liberians to benefit from scholarships in the following fields: Finance, Climate Change, Health & Disaster Management, Electrical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Architecture, Agriculture, Pathology, Public Health, Computer Science/Programming, Civil Engineering, Education, Management Information System, Environmental Science, Geography, etc…

Scholarships are available for BACHELOR, MASTER AND MPhil/PhD at Mauritian universities. The scholarships range from 2 to 4 years, beginning 2024. Their aim is to give a unique opportunity to Liberians to strengthen their skills and expose them to best practices and training in Mauritius.

Applicants must:

  • Be a Liberian national with previous degree (s) and expertise in the priority fields;
  • Be a bachelor’s degree holder and be below the age of 35 when applying for master’s degree;
  • Be a master’s degree holder and be under the age of 40 when applying for PhD;
  • Be a high school graduate and be between 18-25 years of age;
  • Possess high school, undergraduate and graduate qualifications with a minimum 00 GPA, or “B” average.

Eligible Liberian nationals are requested to read the application guideline carefully at: http://ministry-education.govmu.org and http://higheducationmauritius.com  and complete the online application procedure for both the undergraduate and graduate programs.  All interested applicants are required to forward to the Ministry of Education, Congo Town, Ministerial Complex, the below listed documents in THREE (3) sets for consideration:

  • A current curriculum vita (with e-mail address and phone number listed);
  • Notarized version of university degree (s) and transcript;
  • Notarized version of high school diploma and transcript and WAEC or WASSCE for undergraduate;
  • Printed application form;
  • Proof of Liberian citizenship (certified copies of passport and birth certificate);
  • Two current letters of recommendation (one professional and other academic);
  • A one-page summary of reasons for wishing to take a graduate study in Mauritius, and how this training will benefit Liberia;
  • Six passport size photos in color (White background);
  • Medical Certificate (see Section 6 of the online application form) to be signed and stamped, preferably by the Jorkpen Town Medical Lab, located opposite Don Bosco High School, 8th Street, Sinkor), or the Clinic Lap, located on Randall Street;
  • Copy of letter of conditional offer by a public Higher education institution in Mauritius (if available at time of application) OR copy of acknowledgement notice from the Mauritian public HEI that an application for a seat has been made and the appropriate application fee has been paid;
  • Study/Research plan for candidates opting for a Master’s and doctoral study;
  • Supporting statement from a named supervisor from a University in Mauritius for PhD candidates.

NOTE: All applicants should adhere to the closing date and time on this scholarship announcement, and applicants are strongly warned not to present any illegal or falsified documents for this scholarship. If it is discovered that documents presented are not authentic, legal action will be taken against individual(s) guilty.
