                          2025-2026 HUNGARIAN GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP

BACKGROUND:

The Liberian Government, in collaboration with the Government of Hungary, invites applicants to take advantage of the 2025-2026 Hungarian Government Scholarship for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate studies (BS.c, MS.c, or Ph.D) for the academic year 2025/2026.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Applicants who make the final list after the TECHNICAL CHECK by the Hungarian Government would be required to forward the following documents in (THREE BROWN A4 ENVELOPES) to the Division of Scholarships, Ministry of Education for vetting and nomination:

  • A current curriculum vita (with e-mail address and phone number listed);
  • High school graduate must proceed to the Ministry of Education to obtain an attestation validating the documents (DIPLOMA, TRANSCRIPT AND WASSCE/WAEC CERTIFICATE), and then proceed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to acquire an APOSTILEVALIDATION, if applying for bachelor’s degree;
  • Those applying for Master’s must proceed to the Commission on Higher Education to obtain a validation of their (BACHELOR’S DEGREE/TRANSCRIPT), and proceed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to acquire an APOSTILE, if applying for master’s degree;
  • Those applying for PhD must proceed to the Commission on Higher Education to obtain a validation of their (MASTER’S DEGREE/TRANSCRIPT), and then proceed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to acquire an APOSTILE, if applying for Ph.D.;
  • Proof of Liberian citizenship (copies of passport and birth certificate);
  • Two current letters of recommendation (one professional and other academic);
  • STATEMENT OF INTENT: should cover (academic background/achievement, reason for the chosen field of study, the applicant’s potential to succeed and how this degree, when conferred, would benefit Liberia’s development process);
  • Proposal/Research Plan for Master’s/PhD;
  • Six passport size photos with white background;
  • A current and VALID medical certificate issued by the designated medical facilities, covering the following communicable diseases, among other things (Tuberculosis, Hepatitis B, HIV, syphilis, Typhoid Fever, Malaria, HBGB, etc…)
  • Recent Police Clearance.
