Liberia Launches National Continuous Professional Development Strategy

The Ministry of Education, through its Bureau of Teacher Education, officially launched the process for developing a National Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Strategy during a high-level stakeholder engagement held on May 9, 2025, in Monrovia.
The meeting marked the formation of a Technical Working Group (TWG) tasked with drafting a comprehensive CPD framework to enhance teacher quality and professional growth across Liberia.

The CPD Strategy is envisioned to foster inclusive, equitable, and sustained teacher development while raising learning outcomes nationwide.
Hon. Fasam Howard Nyensuah, Assistant Minister for Early Childhood Education and Acting Deputy Minister for Instruction, underscored the Ministry’s commitment to building a globally competitive education system by investing in teachers.
In furtherance, Hon. Atty. Yekeh Y. Forpah, Deputy Minister for Administration, called for a realistic and transformative strategy aligned with national goals and international benchmarks.
Senior education officials, national stakeholders, and international partners convened to align priorities, identify systemic gaps, and establish the Terms of Reference for the TWG.
This initiative marks a significant milestone in Liberia’s education reform agenda, reinforcing the Ministry’s dedication to preparing educators for 21st-century demands with excellence, integrity, and innovation.
