Liberia Concludes Participation in the 12th AFTRA Conference in Angola

The Ministry of Education announces that Minister Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah successfully participated in the 12th Conference and 14th Roundtable of the Africa Federation of Teaching Regulatory Authorities (AFTRA), held recently in Lubango, Angola.
Under the theme “Valuing Teaching Voices: Towards a Rejuvenated Teacher Education and Profession in Africa,” the conference gathered prominent education leaders from across the continent to enhance teacher development and regulatory practices.

Minister Jallah co-chaired the high-level sessions alongside the Minister Education of Angola, Madam Luísa Grilo. In her remarks, Dr. Jallah highlighted the progress being made in advancing the licensing of teachers to professionalize the teaching workforce in Liberia. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to placing qualified educators in every classroom.
Furthermore, she emphasized that teachers are the backbone of the education system, asserting that their well-being and continuous professional development must be prioritized.
Dr. Jallah also acknowledged AFTRA’s invaluable contributions to ensuring quality teacher development in Africa. She expressed gratitude to the Government of Angola for its hospitality and commended Ghana for its support during a recent study tour that influenced Liberia’s reform strategies.
The conference concluded with a renewed continental commitment to elevate the teaching profession and improve education systems through shared knowledge and collaboration.
