Liberia Reaffirms Digital Education Commitment at 2025 World Digital Education Conference in China

The Government of Liberia, through the Ministry of Education, proudly participated in the 2025 World Digital Education Conference (WDEC), held in China from May 14–17, under the theme:
“Education Development and Transformation: The Era of Intelligence.”

Organized in collaboration with UNESCO and UNICEF under the Gateways to Public Learning initiative, the conference brought together global leaders in government, academia, industry, and civil society to shape the future of education through intelligent technologies—advancing Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education for All.
Liberia’s delegation was represented by:
Hon. Nathaniel K. Cisco, Jr., Assistant Minister for TVET, STEM, and Inclusive Education
Hon. Clifford Konah, Jr., Assistant Minister for Teacher Education and Training
The delegation actively engaged in the following key activities:

The Gateways Study Visit, hosted alongside WDEC
Multilateral policy dialogues with global education leaders
Benchmarking best practices in STEM and digital learning
Exploring innovations in teacher training and digital content delivery
Aligning Liberia’s digital priorities with China’s Ministry of Education

Identifying scalable frameworks for national digital transformation
Strengthening partnerships to support educational innovation
These engagements were aimed at leveraging international expertise to accelerate Liberia’s digital transformation in teaching, learning, school management, assessment, and educational research.
The Ministry affirms that global platforms like WDEC and initiatives such as Gateways to Public Learning are crucial to advancing inclusive, equitable, and resilient education systems for all.
