Minister of Education Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah Congratulates First Lady Kartumu Yarta Boakai as School Feeding Champion
Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, Minister of Education, has extended her heartfelt congratulations to Liberia’s First Lady, Kartumu Yarta Boakai, following her selection as School Feeding Champion.

On January 21, 2025, a strategic meeting at the Executive Mansion convened key stakeholders, including Minister of Education, Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, Assistant Minister for Student Personnel Services Madam Sona T. Sesay, and WFP Liberia Country Director Madam Mary Ngoroge, to discuss the expansion of the National School Feeding Program.
A key outcome of the meeting was the announcement of a significant budget allocation aimed at expanding the program’s nationwide impact. This funding will ensure that more children across Liberia receive nutritious meals, which will help address hunger and improve academic performance.

First Lady Boakai highlighted the transformative potential of the program, stating, “We are taking a monumental step today toward securing a brighter future for our children.
With the government’s support, we aim to improve school attendance, academic outcomes, and the overall well-being of our children.”
Minister Jallah praised the First Lady’s leadership and stressed the vital role of the school feeding initiative in ensuring children are nourished, focused, and ready to learn. She reaffirmed that the program is a central component of Liberia’s educational strategy.
This meeting marks the beginning of a new phase for the National School Feeding Program, which will benefit from strengthened partnerships and innovative approaches to broaden its reach.
