Ministry of Education Acknowledges Mr. J. Mason Saweler’s Service and Calls for Adherence to Resolutions Adopted in Bong County

Monrovia, Liberia – June 28, 2024

The Ministry of Education, through its Bureau of Student Personnel Services, has expressed grave concern over the ongoing discord within the National PTA Network of Liberia (NAPTANOL). The Ministry appreciates Mr. J. Mason Saweler, the former President of the Association, for his dedicated service over the past seven years and calls on all NAPTANOL members to respect and adhere to the resolutions adopted during the recent meeting in Gbarnga, Bong County.

During the meeting, which aimed to resolve the long-standing leadership crisis, Interim Leadership was established to guide NAPTANOL’s affairs until the national convention in November 2024. The resolutions, agreed upon unanimously by all parties, including Mr. Saweler, voted Rev. Frederick Gbartu as Interim President, Mr. Mark A. Thomas as Interim Vice President, and Mr. Uriah Winnie as Interim Secretary General.

The Ministry of Education emphasizes its commitment to working exclusively with the Interim Leadership established by these resolutions. It is crucial that these resolutions, designed to foster the growth and development of the Network, are respected above any personal interests. The Ministry urges Mr. Saweler to cooperate with the Interim Leadership for the advancement and professional development of NAPTANOL.

In conclusion, the Ministry reiterates its dedication to providing quality education for all citizens of Liberia. It aims to foster an environment that supports learning and ensures that educational institutions adhere to the highest standards.
