Ministry of Education Advances Validation of Key National Education Policies

Monrovia, Liberia – April 15, 2025:

The Ministry of Education, through its Bureau of Student Personnel Services, in partnership with the Kids’ Educational Engagement Project (KEEP) Liberia, held a high-level validation session at the Ministerial Complex.

The session marked a critical step toward finalizing three national education documents: the National Student Handbook, the National Reading Standards, and the National School Administrator’s Guidebook.

The engagement brought together representatives from leading private school systems—including Catholic, Methodist, Seventh Day Adventist, Open Bible, Spiritian, Our Lady of Grace, and the Monrovia Consolidated School System—whose diverse perspectives helped ensure the policies are inclusive, practical, and nationally relevant.

Participants praised the Ministry’s consultative approach, recognizing the documents as vital tools for aligning institutional practices with national standards and fostering consistency across Liberia’s education sector.

The Ministry will now pilot two of the policies, beginning with the National Student Handbook, in randomly selected schools to assess clarity, fairness, and effectiveness in real-world settings.

This process reflects the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to inclusive reform, quality education, and strengthened governance across Liberia’s school systems.
