Ministry of Education and Youth for Change Inc. Sign MOU to Launch 10th Edition of the Liberia National Debate Championship
On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the Ministry of Education, through its Bureau of Student Personnel Services, signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Youth for Change Inc. to organize the 10th edition of the Liberia National Debate Championship, scheduled for June–July 2025.
Launched in 2015 by Youth for Change Inc. to address a national concern known as “Super Friday,” the championship has grown over the past decade into one of Liberia’s leading extracurricular platforms for secondary school students.
It promotes critical thinking, academic discipline, public speaking, and civic participation.

The 2024–2025 edition will commence with county-level qualifying debates, followed by a National Grand Finale in Monrovia.
Participants will explore key national issues, including education reform, digital innovation, governance, public health, youth leadership, and gender equality—amplifying the voices of young Liberians in national discourse.
This renewed partnership reflects the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to empowering students, advancing academic excellence, and promoting an inclusive and participatory education system through innovative programs that develop leadership and communication skills.
