Ministry of Education Convenes Consultative Meeting to Boost Efficiency Among Education Officers

Monrovia, Liberia – June 18, 2025

The Ministry of Education, under the dynamic leadership of Minister Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, convened a high-level consultative meeting today with education officers from across Liberia to strengthen operational effectiveness and efficiency in the education sector.

Held in the Ministry’s main conference room, the meeting centered on aligning administrative practices with national education priorities, enhancing service delivery at the county and district levels, and addressing key governance issues affecting schools.

Minister Jallah emphasized the urgency of timely and accurate financial reporting, especially in preparation for national budget processes. “When we are requesting budgetary increments, it requires documentary evidence,” she stated. She cautioned against delays and stressed the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and performance-based financing.

The Minister also raised serious concerns about unauthorized graduation fee hikes and non-compliance with the national Academic Calendar, calling such actions unacceptable and in violation of policy guidelines.

To address growing safety concerns, Minister Jallah announced a joint initiative with the Liberia National Police to enforce the ban on street parades during gala days, graduations, and WASSCE celebrations—aimed at protecting students from harm and maintaining public order.

Concluding her remarks, Minister Jallah called on all education officers to recommit to producing measurable results that reflect the Ministry’s vision for transformation, equity, and quality education for every Liberian child.
