The Ministry of Education hereby informs the public of the reopening of schools for the 2024/2025 academic year for 10th graders and the graduation schedule for 12th graders for the 2023/2024 academic year. The revised dates are as follows:

1. 10th Grade reopening Date: September 16, 2024

2. 12th Grade Graduation Period: September 16–30, 2024

These adjustments pertain specifically to the start date for 10th-grade students and the graduation ceremonies for 12th-grade students. All other grades (kindergarten to 9th grade and 11th to 12graders) will resume classes as initially planned on September 2, 2024.

Eligibility for promotion to the 10th grade or graduation from the 12th grade is contingent upon the successful completion of the 9th grade WAEC or 12th grade WASSCE examinations. The results of these examinations are expected to be released on or before September 15, 2024.

To ensure that 10th-grade students fulfill the mandatory 200 instructional days, the Ministry of Education will make the necessary adjustments to the 2024/2025 academic calendar.

The Ministry further underscores that all private and faith-based schools are required to adhere strictly to this policy decision. Non-compliance will attract severe consequences.
