Liberia Launches National Digital Learning Platform to Strengthen Early Grade Learning
The Ministry of Education has officially launched Liberia’s National Digital Learning Platform, a major step toward improving literacy and numeracy outcomes in the early grades.
Unveiled at Paynesville City Hall, the platform is designed for Grades 1-3 and provides curriculum-aligned video, audio, and radio lessons to support foundational learning. The content was developed by Liberian teachers, ensuring it reflects local realities, languages, and classroom needs.
To promote equity and reach, the platform integrates sign language interpretation and radio lessons, extending access to children in communities with limited or no internet connectivity.

Speaking at the launch, Minister of Education Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah noted that while enrollment has expanded, too many children are still not mastering basic reading and numeracy skills. She emphasized that the platform is intended to support teachers with quality instructional materials and ensure learning is meaningful and inclusive.
Developed in partnership with AfriLearn Tech Company Ltd, the initiative aligns with the Government’s ARREST Agenda and the Education Sector Plan, reinforcing Liberia’s commitment to early learning as the foundation for long-term educational success.
This platform reflects a simple but critical principle: where a child is born should never determine how well they learn.
