Monrovia, Liberia – September 10, 2025

The Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Government of the People’s Republic of China, is dispatching a 25-member delegation on a two-week education study tour to China beginning September 11, 2025. This initiative underscores Liberia’s commitment to strengthening its education sector through global collaboration.

The delegation, composed of teachers and master trainers from rural teacher training institutions, was selected through a transparent, merit-based process. Nineteen participants will depart on September 11, with the remaining six scheduled for September 14.

Led by Hon. Clifford, Assistant Minister for Teacher Education, the tour aims to expose participants to China’s innovative teaching methodologies and education systems.

At the pre-departure briefing, Minister of Education, Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, described the initiative as a crucial step toward advancing instructional quality and professional development in Liberia.

“This is an opportunity to learn, share, and return with practical ideas that will improve our classrooms,” Dr. Jallah said, while expressing appreciation to the Government of China for its continued support. She urged the delegates to represent Liberia with integrity and a spirit of learning.

Delegates expressed gratitude to the Ministry and pledged to share their experiences with colleagues and institutions upon their return.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to building a resilient and globally competitive education system through both local reforms and international partnerships.
