Driving Educational Excellence: Raising Standards, Ensuring Accountability
The Ministry of Education is strengthening reforms to ensure every Liberian child learns in schools that are accountable, transparent, and aligned with global standards.
At a stakeholder meeting with school principals, Acting Minister Atty. Nyekeh Y. Forkpa announced the launch of a School Quality Assessment and a new digital permit system. These steps are designed to close gaps in compliance and make sure schools meet the standards our learners deserve.
The Ministry also reaffirmed clear rules: graduation requires at least five WAEC passes (including English and Math), and unauthorized fees will not be tolerated. Updated guidelines for TVET and international schools will further strengthen relevance and fairness across the system.
This reform is about one goal: building a trusted education system where quality and equity are the foundation for Liberia’s future.
