Landmark MoU Signed to Strengthen Academic Innovation and Agricultural Development in Liberia

The Ministry of Education today announced the signing of a major Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Agriculture, Margibi University, and Tuskegee University, formalizing months of productive virtual collaboration.

Minister of Education Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah welcomed Tuskegee University President Dr. Mark Brown and delegation to Liberia, noting that the partnership reflects President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s vision for academic excellence, innovation, and a skilled workforce capable of driving national development.

The MoU launches a wide range of initiatives, including new academic programs, faculty and leadership development, joint research, strengthened laboratory and technical support, student scholarships, internship opportunities, and community-focused extension services.

In their remarks, Dr. Brown, Dr. Nancy T. Freeman of the Booker Washington Institute, and Dr. Joseph T. Isaac of Margibi University all highlighted the partnership’s potential to expand learning opportunities and strengthen agricultural advancement nationwide.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to fostering transformative collaborations that elevate Liberia’s education system and open pathways for the next generation of scholars, innovators, and professionals.
