Liberia’s Education Sector Comes Together for JESR 2025

From December 11–12, 2025, the Ministry of Education will convene the Joint Education Sector Review (JESR) 2025 in Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County, bringing education leaders and partners together at a critical moment for the sector.
Held under the theme “Halfway to the Goal: Mid-Term Review and Zoom Focus on Accelerating Foundational Learning Outcomes and Equity,” the review will take stock of Liberia’s progress under the Education Sector Plan and refocus collective efforts on what matters most: helping children learn, early and well, no matter where they live.

Over two days, government institutions, counties, development partners, civil society, and education stakeholders will examine data, assess results, and agree on priorities to strengthen access, quality, and equity across the system. Sessions will include insights from the 2024/2025 Annual School Census, discussions on foundational learning outcomes, and reflections on governance, accountability, and partner alignment.
JESR 2025 is about shared responsibility and honest reflection, ensuring that plans translate into real improvements in classrooms, schools, and communities across Liberia.
Together, we move forward, halfway to the goal, with clearer focus and renewed commitment.
