Minister Jarso Maley Jallah Champions Inclusive and Gender-Sensitive Education for a Transformed Liberia

The Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, in collaboration with the National Youth Advisory Council, successfully convened the Second Annual Presidential Youth Town Hall on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the Monrovia City Hall.

This national forum, which builds on the success of the 2024 inaugural edition, showcased President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr.’s unwavering dedication to inclusive governance and youth-centered development.

In his keynote message, the President encouraged young Liberians to rise to the challenge of leadership by becoming courageous, visionary, and actively involved in shaping Liberia’s future through innovation, service, and civic participation.

The day commenced with a compelling Pre-Town Hall Panel Discussion under the theme “Delivering on the Youth Agenda,” featuring prominent voices from government and youth leadership.

A major highlight of the event was the powerful address by Hon. Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, Minister of Education, who delivered an inspiring call to action for Liberia’s youth. She emphasized the urgent need for curriculum reform, gender-responsive and inclusive education, and expanded access to technical and vocational training to prepare all Liberians—especially girls and marginalized communities—for a rapidly changing world.

Minister Jallah encouraged the nation’s young people to take proactive steps toward excellence by being honest, committed, respectful, and smart, declaring that “a transformed Liberia begins with an educated, empowered generation that leaves no one behind.”

Other distinguished panelists included:

Hon. Cllr. J. Cole Bangalu, Minister of Youth & Sports, who emphasized youth entrepreneurship, empowerment, and sports development;

Hon. Cooper W. Kruah, Sr., Minister of Labor, who addressed job creation and workforce readiness;

Hon. Steve Tequah, Chair, House Committee on Youth, who underscored legislative support for youth initiatives;

Mr. James Earl Kiawoin, Chairperson, National Youth Advisory Council, who spoke on youth representation and civic engagement.

The event concluded with a dynamic nationwide Q&A session, engaging youth representatives from all 15 counties.

Participants shared innovative ideas, asked critical questions, and proposed practical recommendations.

These insights will be presented to the President and other key stakeholders to inform Liberia’s forward-looking development agenda.

This year’s Town Hall reaffirmed a shared national vision:

when young people are inspired, included, and empowered, Liberia’s future is limitless.

Together, We Are Empowering Youth. Together, We Are Building Liberia.
