U.S. Congressional Delegation Visits Liberia’s Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education today welcomed a U.S. Congressional Delegation, led by Senator John Jack Reed and Representative Gabriel Felix Kofi Amo, at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex.

The visit focused on reviewing the impact of U.S. government assistance through USAID. Senior ministry officials, school leaders, and development partners joined the discussions, highlighting how U.S. support has strengthened teacher training, data systems, scholarships, and institutional capacity.

Deputy Minister for Administration Atty. Nyekeh Y. Forkpa, speaking on behalf of Minister Dr. Jarso Jallah, expressed Liberia’s gratitude, acknowledging USAID’s past contributions that have uplifted students, trained teachers, and strengthened data-driven reforms across the sector.

SenatorJohn Jack Reed and Representative Gabriel Felix Kofi Amo, reaffirmed their commitment to advocating for continued U.S. support, recognizing education as a cornerstone of Liberia’s long-term stability and growth.

The Ministry acknowledged current funding realignments but underscored its determination to building a resilient, inclusive, and high-quality education system, confident that strong partnerships will continue to deliver lasting impact for students, teachers, and communities across Liberia.
