Ministry of Education Prepares to Commemorate National Week of the Young Child

(MONROVIA, LIBERIA – April 23, 2024):

The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Bureau of Early Childhood Education (ECE), is gearing up to honor and celebrate the National Week of the Young Child, underscoring the crucial role of early childhood education in children’s development and growth.

Scheduled for Friday, April 26, 2024, the event will take place at the AWARE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, with a thematic focus on “Enhancing Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Skills through Responsive Care and Family Encouragement in Early Childhood Programs.”

This national initiative aims to offer a platform for students from diverse schools in Montserrado to exhibit their talents through an array of academic activities.

An esteemed guest at the event will be the Assistant Minister for Early Childhood Education (ECE), Honorable Fasam Howard Nyensuah, who will lead a delegation. Her participation underscores the Ministry’s commitment to fortifying Early Childhood Education in Liberia, fostering resilience and advancement within the sector.

In partnership with educational stakeholders, the Ministry seeks to highlight the pivotal role of early childhood education in laying a sturdy foundation for children’s future academic achievements and overall well-being.
