Ministry of Education Unveils Strategic Plan for Enhanced System Management and Quality Data Control
Monrovia, Liberia – March 7, 2024 – The Ministry of Education has unveiled an ambitious strategic plan aimed at strengthening System Management and ensuring Quality Data Control to monitor employee performance and address challenges within the education sector.
During a high-level meeting with Executive members of the Education System Strengthening Activity (ESSA) at the Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, Minister of Education, emphasized the pivotal role of System Management and Quality Data Control in driving progress and enabling informed decision-making processes.
In response to a comprehensive presentation by Mr. Haladu Mohammed, Chief Executive of ESSA, Dr. Jallah highlighted the critical importance of Management Systems and Quality Data outcomes in facilitating resource mobilization and targeted interventions. She stressed the need for innovative solutions to address existing gaps within the education sector.
Minister Jallah outlined key components of the Ministry’s plan, including accountability, evidence-based data infrastructure, HR management systems, and robust Monitoring and Evaluation mechanisms, aimed at enhancing service delivery, ensuring quality, and fostering professional growth among employees.
“The System Strengthening Activity represents a transformative milestone for the education sector, ushering in an era of enhanced efficiency and productivity,” she affirmed.
In her concluding remarks, Minister Jallah reiterated the significance of annual school data reports as foundational evidence for government and partner support. She also highlighted ongoing efforts to review the establishment of a National Clearing House for student matriculation.
Meanwhile, Mr. Haladu Mohammed, Chief of Party of ESSA, presented a concise summary of the institution’s activities to the Minister of Education, emphasizing the imperative of aligning efforts to prioritize Quality Data collection in addressing key challenges within the education sector.
In summary, Mr. Mohammed reaffirmed that Quality Data collection initiatives aim to yield significant impacts within the education sector. He urged stakeholders to fully support and sustain the annual school census process.
Mr. Mohammed expressed ESSA’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the sector and commended the Minister for endorsing the co-location of ESSA staff at the Central MoE office, thereby facilitating the timely implementation of comprehensive research and analysis to improve service delivery.
