THE GOVERNMENT OF LIBERIA THROUGH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION HAS BROKEN GROUNDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A MODERN SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL IN DOU-GORTON TOWN, YARPEA -MAH EDUCATION DISTRICT, NIMBA COUNTY.

The Government of Liberia breaks Ground in Duo Gorton, Yarpea Mah Education District in Nimba County.

(March 15, 2022-Nimba, Liberia) – The Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Education has broken grounds for the construction of a modern Senior Secondary School in Dou-Gorton Town, Yarpea -Mah Education District, Nimba County.

Speaking during the ground breaking ceremony, the Minister of Education, Prof. Dr. D. Ansu Sonii reiterated Government’s Commitment for quality and affordable education across the country void of discrimination.

Minister Sonii cautioned parents and education stakeholders of Nimba and Yarpea-Mah Education District to make the maximum use of the facilities to invest into the education of their children for the growth and development of Liberia.

The Education Boss encouraged the citizens that there is no better time than now for parents to cater to the education needs of their children in acquiring quality Secondary education.

He challenged Nimba County Education stakeholders as well as the surrounding communities to cooperate during the construction of the secondary school.

Also Speaking, the PTA County Chairman for Nimba, Mr. Ernest Yeanay , extolled President George Weah for the landmark project.

Mr. Yeanay who is one of the oldest elders in the District said that this is the first time in the history of Liberia for a high school to be built in that part of Nimba County.

He further stressed that the people of Nimba will forever remain committed and grateful to H. E President Greoge Mennah Weah for this historical and remarkable initiative. He further concluded that ” this is a dream come true “

Meanwhile, Nimba County Education Officer, Mr. Moses Dologbay, told the gathering that his office will do all it can to ensure that the construction of the modern facility is carried out in time

He therefore challenged District Education Officers to closely monitor the project during the construction process.

As part of the ongoing tour, the Minister and Team visited several schools including the Sanniquellie Central High, Unification Town High school among others.

Prof. Dr. D. Ansu Sonii reiterated Government’s Commitment for quality and affordable education across the country void of discrimination.

In continuation of the Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity & Development (PAPD), the Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Education, has embarked on the construction of 25 Senior Secondary Schools across the Country where there had been no Senior Secondary schools since the founding of this nation.
