The Ministry of Education with profound sadness regrets to announce the untimely death of Hon. Samuel Erasmus Hare Jr. which occurred during the morning hours on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Hospital in Congo, Monrovia, Liberia.
Mr. Hare as he was commonly called, was a dedicated and professional public service, youth development and leadership coach, musician and an author.
He served as Executive Director of the YMCA-Liberia, Deputy Minister of Youth Services, Ministry of Youth & Sports, and most recently before his passing, as Secretary General of the Liberia National Commission of UNESCO.
As all will come to know him, Mr. Hare was a humbled and friendly character, always willing to go beyond the bound of his duties in service to all persons and country.
We honor his indelible service and love for country, and extend our deepest condolences to his wife, children, family, friends and colleagues, including those at the Ministry of Education.
May God receive his gentle soul as he rest in peace.
